Selection Process of Coast Guard Assistant Commandant 2023

The selection of Officer Recruits is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination.

Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Syllabus & Test Pattern 2023

Stage-I (CGCAT). The Stage-I would include conduct of screening Test for the eligible applicants which will be a Computer Based Examination conducted at various centers all over India. Screening test is to be conducted for candidates applying for the post of GD/CPL and Technical (Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics). The screening test will be conducted in MCQ pattern with maximum marks of 400 consisting of 100 questions with four marks for each correct answer and one negative marking for each incorrect answer. The duration of the exam will be of two hours and medium of test paper will be English. The candidate has to take following tests depending on post applied:-

  1. All India category wise merit list for Stage-I will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in Stage-I (CGCAT) of CGCAT examination and DOB. If merit is tied at last shortlisted candidate, than all the candidates having same marks will be shortlisted for stage II (PSB).
  2. Indian Coast Guard has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all subjects of the examination for short listing of candidates for stage-II (PSB).


Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (AC) Admit Card 2023

ICG website will announce the date when e-admit cards are available for download for Stage I, II &III. Candidates are directed to regularly visit the website and login to download the E-Admit Card for various stages. No e-mail will be sent to candidates regarding “when the E-admit card will be available for download”. Examination city will be displayed in candidate’s login at least 10 days prior to Stage-I. The E-admit card with exact Examination Centre address will be available in Candidate login and email will be sent on registered email Id only 02-03 days prior to examination. Failure to download the E-admit card and non-reporting for various recruitment stages will lead to cancellation of candidature. ICG will not be responsible, if the candidate fails to regularly check the important recruitment communication on website regarding downloading of E-admit card and other instructions for Stage-I, II, III, IV and Stage-V.

Promotion and Pay Level. The promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria. The pay scales for the various ranks are as per the 7th CPC are as follows:-
