UPSC Civil Service Exam 2023 Notification

All candidates (male/ female/ transgender) are requested to carefully read the Rules of Civil Services Examination notified by the Government (Department of Personnel and Training) and this Notice of Examination derived from these Rules. Selection Process of UPSC Civil Service Exam 2023

The Civil Services Examination comprises two successive stages:

  1. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and
  2. Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts noted above.

UPSC Prelims Exam Syllabus and Scheme 2023

The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each.

Note:

  1. Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration.
  2. The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
  3. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.
  4. Details of the syllabi are indicated in Part A of Section III.

The Written Examination will consist of the following papers:-

(One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution). 300 Marks

Number of attempts For UPSC Civil Service Exam 2023

Every candidate appearing at the examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six (6) attempts at the CSE. However, relaxation in the number of attempts will be available to the SC/ ST/ OBC and PwBD category candidates who are otherwise eligible. The number of attempts available to such candidates as per relaxation is as under:

UPSC Civil Service Exam Admit Card 2023

The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website [ https://upsconline.nic.in ] for downloading by candidates.
